As a Policy & Research Officer, you will play a central role in researching, analysing and influencing public policy, helping to inform decision-making and support the Commission’s statutory responsibilities.

The Role

You’ll be responsible for helping shape the Commission’s policy and research agenda through:

· Researching and analysing policy, legislation and public services

· Producing briefing papers, reports and evidence-based recommendations

· Developing guidance and advice for public authorities

· Monitoring policy developments and identifying emerging issues

· Supporting stakeholder engagement and consultation activity

· Promoting good practice and contributing to strategic policy development

This is a role where your work will directly inform decisions, influence debate and contribute to positive change.

About You

We’re looking for an enthusiastic and analytical professional who can turn research and evidence into clear, practical recommendations.

You’ll have:

✔ At least 2 years’ experience researching and analysing policy, legislation, public services or other complex issues

✔ Experience producing high-quality reports, briefings, policy papers or recommendations

✔ Experience planning and delivering research projects

✔ Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills

✔ The ability to analyse complex information and present clear conclusions

⭐ Knowledge of cultural, identity, linguistic or human rights issues

⭐ Knowledge of public policy and legislative processes
