Our client, based in Newforge is looking for an Executive Officer to join their team
Job Description:
– ICT Level 3s are responsible for implementing technical solutions, ensuring adherence to appropriate policies, procedures and standards. This includes assessing the information requirements of business areas and addressing these through the application of ICT. To achieve this, ICT Level 3s perform a range of work activities in a variety of contexts, some of them complex and non-routine, with minimum supervision.
The post-holder will be part of AFBI’s IT helpdesk supporting staff in the delivery of the corporate work programme. The main duties of the post-holder include the following:
– Technical support for AFBI’s IT infrastructure, business applications and scientific systems across all AFBI sites;
– Technical support for Microsoft Windows 10 (and above) operating systems in a Microsoft domain environment (Knowledge of other versions of Microsoft Windows would be desirable);
– Technical support for the connection of business and scientific equipment (RS-232, USB, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, etc);
– Assistance during IT conducted reviews of IT devices and services;
– Liaison with AFBI’s primary government IT service provider (IT Assist) to ensure successful delivery of their services within agreed timescales;
– Liaison with third party providers to resolve hardware and software issues including device connectivity;
– Advice to Staff on the best use of IT resources, on operational issues and the application of AFBI’s IT policies;
– Assistance during IT procurement exercises, by providing technical advice and/or recommendations.
Essential Criteria:
– 5 GCSEs Including Maths and English (certificate proof)
– 2 alevels in any subject (certificate proof)
Applicants must demonstrate in their application form that they possess the following criteria, by the closing date:
Be in possession of a Level 4, or higher, qualification in Computing or other discipline relevant to Information Systems / Information technology*
OR
Have three year’s relevant experience **
* Only those courses with a computing content of 50% or more will be considered relevant. Candidates must provide documentary evidence of their qualifications in their application. The onus is on the applicant to clearly illustrate that their qualification meets the 50% criteria. All applicants should list all of the modules studied (including those with no computing content), and also briefly set out details of each of the relevant core modules detailed above and show that they add up to at least 50% of the total number of modules studied.
** Relevant experience is defined as experience in all of the following:
– Supporting, implementing and administering MS Windows 10 operating systems in a Microsoft domain environment; and
– Troubleshooting and resolving computer and device connectivity issues (RS-232, USB, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, etc); and
– Hands-on experience installing and maintaining computing components and software; and
– Proven ability to work on own initiative with problem resolution in time sensitive situations and
– Contribution to provision of a IT support facility (eg IT help/service desk and/or department).

– £13.81ph (weekly)
