Facility Support Worker

Location: Crossmaglen
Salary: £12.71 per hour
Hours: 12.5 hours per week (Monday – Friday, 10:30am – 1:00pm)
Contract: Temporary until 30 November 2026

Overview

We are seeking a reliable and motivated Facility Support Worker to join our Day Care Services team in Crossmaglen. The successful candidate will work as part of a dedicated team, supporting the delivery of high-quality services through a range of practical domestic and catering duties.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Catering Duties

  • Receive, store, heat, temperature probe, and serve cook-chill meals in accordance with food safety guidelines.
  • Prepare special dietary meals as required.
  • Maintain accurate records including fridge temperatures, delivery logs, cooking, and reheating records.
  • Prepare and serve tea and coffee for service users.
  • Clean catering equipment and areas, including utensils, crockery, food trolleys, and storage areas.
  • Load and unload dishwashers.
  • Assist with meal preparation, snack service, ordering meals, and undertake basic serving and cashier duties where required.

Domestic Duties

  • Carry out routine cleaning and maintenance of floor surfaces, including sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, and machine cleaning.
  • Clean and maintain surfaces such as furniture, fittings, equipment, mirrors, shelving, and high-level areas.
  • Maintain sanitary areas, including toilets and shower facilities.
  • Replenish consumables such as soap, paper towels, toilet rolls, and hand sanitiser.

Essential Criteria

Experience

  • Demonstrable experience of undertaking a range of practical domestic or catering duties in a paid role.

Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
  • Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload.
  • Positive, flexible, and co-operative attitude.
  • Ability to use initiative and remain calm in challenging situations.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with staff and service users.
  • Effective communication skills appropriate to the role.
  • Willingness to undertake relevant training and development.
  • Flexibility regarding working arrangements.
