Finance Officer

£12.75 per hour

Hospital-Based Role | Enniskillen

We are currently recruiting for a Finance Officer to join a busy Cash Office team within a healthcare setting in Enniskillen.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced finance or administrative professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, delivering a high standard of customer service while maintaining accurate financial records and handling sensitive information.

The Role

Working within the Finance Department, you will assist in delivering a comprehensive cashier service, ensuring all financial transactions are processed accurately and in line with established procedures. You will work closely with patients, visitors, staff and external organisations, providing a professional, efficient and customer-focused service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Processing, recording and securely handling cash and valuables.
  • Maintaining accurate financial records and documentation.
  • Preparing bank lodgements and reconciling petty cash accounts.
  • Processing patient travel expense reimbursements.
  • Recording and processing cash, cheque and card payments.
  • Managing patient property records and returns.
  • Dealing with enquiries via telephone, email and face-to-face.
  • Maintaining databases, spreadsheets and financial records.
  • Supporting invoice requests and private patient income processes.
  • General administrative duties including scanning and photocopying.

Essential Criteria

Applicants must have either:

  • 5 GCSEs (Grade A-C), including English Language and Maths/Accounts (or equivalent), plus 1 year’s experience in a finance role;

OR

  • 3 years’ administrative/clerical experience, including at least 1 year within a finance role.

Skills & Experience

  • Excellent organisational and administrative skills.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work effectively in a busy office environment with frequent interruptions.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and manage competing priorities.
  • Knowledge of general office procedures.
  • Understanding of cash office functions and basic accounting principles.

Desirable Criteria

  • Previous cash office experience.
  • Experience working within a healthcare finance department.
