The Recruitment Co are looking for a Forklift Truck Driver to join a busy fruit factory in the Hawthorn Bank area of Spalding.
This is a temporary position but ongoing for the foreseeable future and may lead to a direct contract for the right candidate.
The job will involve some lifting and can be physically demanding. You will be required to wear safety shoes.

The right person must have:

  • Accredited forklift operating licence from an industry-recognised body such as RTITB
  • Ability to work well in a team with other staff, such as Lorry Drivers or Warehouse Packers, to coordinate the movement of goods
  • Knowledge of warehouse health and safety requirements
  • Knowledge of industrial storage procedures, such as the correct way to stack pallets on top of one another
  • Ability to itemise and record stock for inventories
  • Ability to safely lift 20 kilogrammes unassisted
  • Good attention to detail
  • Fast paced and methodical
  • Committed to hit targets
  • Speak and understand basic English to effectively communicate with the team

Objectives

  • A Forklift Driver is responsible for operating forklifts and moving goods around the site. Their duties include using forklifts to unload deliveries, stacking boxes for storage and moving wooden pallets around the site in a safe manner.
  • To manage production standards i.e production rates, cleanliness, product quality, health and safety.
  • To continuously challenge the team and the production process to improve operational and financial performance within the packing area.

Responsibilities

  • Manoeuvring forklifts safely in a busy environment
  • Feed lines with allocated stock efficiently and on time
  • Safely stacking and unstacking large quantities of goods onto shelves or pallets
  • Accurate booking in of deliveries
  • Moving and supplying goods to all production areas.
  • Ensuring that forklift driving areas are free from spills or obstructions
  • Regularly checking forklift equipment for faults or damages
  • Using industrial plastic wraps and wooden pallets to safely stack and package goods for transport
  • Keeping up to date on health and safety requirements and forklift operating procedures
  • Control of waste on site
  • Follow and enforce health and safety and hygiene standards, food safety and quality policies, and coronavirus procedures

Shift as a Forklift Truck Driver:
This is a full-time position rotating weekly between morning and afternoon shift, with every other weekend off.
Morning shift: 5.30am – 14:30pm
Afternoon shift: 14:30pm – finish (varies from approximately 22:00pm – 2am)

Pay rate as a Forklift Truck Driver:
Whilst in Training: £10.43 per hour and £15.65 per hour overtime after 40 hrs per week (32 hrs pm shift per week) & £20.86 on a Sunday
When Fully Trained: £10.93 per hour and £16.40 per hour overtime after 40 hrs per week (32 hrs pm shift per week) & £21.86 on a Sunday
