We are recruiting General Operative to join our client, Camden Group
Location: Steeple Road Site, Antrim
- Day shift £12.82 per hour
- Monday – Friday
- Shift times 6.30am onwards
- Early finish Fridays
- Temporary, starting ASAP
Job Purpose
The General Operative is responsible for supporting manufacturing operations within the
production facility, ensuring products are assembled, processed, and finished to the required
quality standards. The role involves working as part of a team, following production procedures,
maintaining a safe working environment, and contributing to the efficient manufacture of uPVC
windows and doors.
Key Responsibilities
* Carry out production and assembly tasks in accordance with standard operating
procedures (SOPs)
* Ensure all production processes and procedures are followed accurately and
consistently
* Maintain quality standards and identify any defects, faults, or errors in products
* Report machinery faults, equipment issues, or product defects to the Production
Supervisor
* Perform all tasks competently following completion of training and sign-off
* Work efficiently to achieve daily production targets and departmental objectives
* Maintain a clean, organised, and safe work area at all times
* Ensure attendance and punctuality standards are consistently met
* Communicate effectively with Team Leaders and colleagues regarding production
requirements
* Handle materials and products safely and in accordance with company procedures
* Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental policies, including the correct use of
PPE
* Demonstrate a positive attitude and commitment to continuous improvement
* Represent Camden Group professionally and courteously at all times
* Undertake any other reasonable duties as requested by management
Person Specification
Essential
* Previous experience working within a manufacturing, production, or warehouse
environment
* Strong work ethic and reliable attendance record
* Ability to follow instructions, procedures, and quality standards
* Good communication and teamwork skills
* Strong attention to detail
* Commitment to health and safety practices
* Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment
Desirable
* Experience within a uPVC, window, door, or construction manufacturing environment
* Knowledge of manufacturing processes and production line operations
* Experience using hand tools or production equipment
* Understanding of quality control procedures
* Awareness of continuous improvement or lean manufacturing principles
