The Recruitment Co. is currently recruiting for an Interim Microbiologist to join our clients team based in the Baglan area.
Contract: 6 months
Salary: £17.55ph
Hours of work: Full time Monday to Friday 8am-4pm
Purpose of the role: Reporting to the QC Manager as a member of the QC/Microbiology team you will be responsible and accountable for various areas which contribute to the assurance of safety, quality, and performance and the implementation of GMP.
To support the current Snr microbiologist and QC/QA Department with regards to the specific tasks as detailed in the following section to achieve departmental and Plant objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support and Implement SHE standards and raise issues to SHE Manager when needed. Ensure the safety, health and environment compliance of personnel completing the site quality procedures.
- Support and Integrate quality control and quality assurance processes to deliver the best quality product.
- Support development of site quality training programme.
- Ensure that Quality policies, procedures and standards are followed throughout the micro laboratory and during microbial analysis.
- Support the regular and structured analysis of microbiological data.
- Support and Drive quality improvements based on data insights.
- Support ISO 9001 , IMS etc.
- Support and deliver the Implementation of GMP within required timescale within the laboratory.
- To support the testing process and take corrective actions where required.
- Liaise with other organisational functions to strongly communicate requirements and ensure goals are achieved.
- Support and drive the general tidiness of the laboratory to ensure compliance with GLP/GMP maintaining lab equipment, glassware and laboratory chemical stocks ensuring delays in testing.
- Support routine monitoring of water system, TOC, conductivity, chemical testing, and microbiological sampling both on purified and WFI systems.
- Perform duties in accordance with principles for GMP and safe working practices.
- Support the submission and administration of samples required for external microbiology testing.
- Support with Microbiology reporting.
- Maintaining and updating paperwork associated with laboratory activities ensuring smooth running of QC functions: i.e-specifications, methods, and production documents.
- Support test results and generate basic reports.
Key competencies and skills required: We are looking for someone with experience of working in a manufacturing environment and within Microbiology, with good IT systems and administration skills. Knowledge of GMP + ISO 9001 would be beneficial.
