Our client, A Large public sector organisation, based in Belfast is looking for a Lab Attednant to join their team.
Duration: up to 51 weeks
Rate of pay: £10.94
Start Date: ASAP – Must be fully registered in order to start
Location: Carrickfergus
Main Duties:
– Understanding of the laboratory environment
– Understanding of how they contribute to the overall performance of the laboratory
– Fully conversant with all policies and procedures as relevant to their role
– Understanding of their responsibilities within the QMS and technical operating procedures
Achieving Results
– Washing / sterilisation of glassware and proper disposal of contaminated waste
– Maintenance of gas store and provision of gases
– Assisting in preparation of laboratory reagents and solvents
– Routine cleaning/deep cleans
– Maintaining stocks of chemicals and other consumables
– Manufacture of kits and management of casual staff making kits
-May be asked to undertake other duties as and when required
Quality
– Works according to FSNI procedures at all times, remaining aware of changes and their practical implications on site e.g. quality procedures, health and safety etc.
– Promoting a Quality culture and ensuring all relevant standards are adhered to within the team in relation to the Quality Management System
Services
- Establishes the needs and expectations of all internal customers, and deals with them appropriately
– Assisting scientific staff in tasks relevant to a Laboratory Attendant
People
– Provides support to other team members and to other areas of the Agency
Essential Criteria:
– Experience gained within a laboratory setting, or studied a science subject which includes laboratory work to GCSE / O Level standard
– Some knowledge of Health & Safety in a laboratory environment would be beneficial though not essential, as full training will be given.
