My Client is seeking a skilled Maintenance Engineer with a background in mechanical engineering to join their dynamic team. As a valued member of the Mechanical Engineering department, you will be responsible for conducting safety checks, performing preventive maintenance, and repairing equipment.
The client is looking for a forward-thinking individual who demonstrates initiative and possesses a risk-based approach to safety. The ability to work both independently and as part of a team is essential. Please note that the role is on a rota system during opening hours, which may include some weekend work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the safety and efficiency of the rides, attractions, equipment, and park facilities.
  • Participate fully in the execution and planning of the annual winter maintenance and certification program, adhering to HSE guidance notes and statutory requirements, while maintaining accurate records.
  • Apply your extensive knowledge of mechanical engineering to perform planned and unplanned safety inspections and maintenance work on amusement devices and associated equipment, following HSG175 guidelines.
  • Utilise your expertise in reading and understanding schematic drawings to effectively diagnose and troubleshoot issues.
  • Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic diagrams is crucial.
  • Conduct Risk Assessments and Associated Risk Assessments as needed.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in adhering to health and safety procedures relevant to engineering activities and the safe handling of heavy equipment.
  • Respond promptly and safely to ride shutdowns as part of a shift team to ensure maximum ride availability.This may involve working at heights and in confined spaces.

Requirements:

  • Completion of a recognized apprenticeship or possession of a recognized qualification (e.g City & Guild, BTEC, NVQ Level 3, ONC) in a mechanical engineering discipline is a minimum requirement.
  • Strong ability to interpret and understand schematic drawings for effective fault finding and diagnostics.
  • Experience working with hydraulic and pneumatic diagrams is essential.
  • Proficient in carrying out Risk Assessments and Associated Risk Assessments.
  • Knowledge of health and safety procedures pertaining to engineering activities and the safe handling of heavy equipment.
  • Flexibility and the ability to work as part of a team or independently as required.
  • Full-time, permanent position.
