We are currently seeking a full-time temporary ongoing Medical Laboratory Assistant for our public sector client. Candidates would be expected to work between Craigavon and Newry
Hours of work: 37.5 hours per week 24/7 shifts Shifts will generally be 12-8 between Monday – Sunday

Rate of pay £11.11 per hour, Saturday & after 8pm Mon- Fri £14.69 per hour, Sunday £19.07 per hour

Duties include:

Working to standard operating procedures the MLA will assist Biomedical Scientists by carrying out a variety of routine tasks. MLA duties will be supervised. The MLA will assist with all phases of specimen progress through the appropriate department including the pre and post-analytical phases. The Pathology &; Laboratory Service operates at both Craigavon and Daisy Hillsites on a 24/7 basis and shift patterns will reflect this.

Essential Criteria:

1. 5 GCSE’s or equivalent at Grade C or above including a science subject

or

1 year relevant experience in a laboratory setting

Hold a current full driving licence which is valid for use in the UK and have access to a car on

appointment. This criteria will be waived in the case of applicants whose disability prohibits

driving but who have access to a form of transport approved by The Organisation which

will permit them to carry out the duties of the post.
