Neighbourhood Officer

£13.69 per hour
37.5 hours a week
MAIN PURPOSE
To provide a supporting and complementary role to the Patch Manager teams by undertaking an agreed programme of duties tailored to the needs of estates and communities throughout the Area.
Key Responsibilities
All officers will undertake ‘scheduled’ and unscheduled’ tasks daily and maintain a daily logbook of all activities.
The duties, subject to Area office requirement, will be drawn from the following areas:
- Estate Management
- Environmental Management
- Community Development
This will include the delivery of a range of services including, but not limited to:
Estate Management:
- Carrying out Health and Safety checks in communal areas at low, medium and high rise flats
- Liaising and reporting repairs including visits to elderly or vulnerable tenants to assist in accurate reporting of repairs etc.
- Assist maintenance staff and tenants
General Duties
- To provide a high level of internal and external customer service including taking ownership of customer queries and complaints and following issues through to completion, while ensuring timely escalation to the senior management, when required
- To ensure continued and effective working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, and the wider Housing Services directorate.
- To promote continuous service improvement by working with customers and other Agencies to improve service delivery.
- To represent the Area Team as required and provide support and cover for the other team members as and when required.
Essential Criteria
Applicants must provide evidence by the closing date for application that they meet the following essential criteria:

- (i) Hold a BTEC National Certificate or equivalent Professional or Technical qualification* (Level 3) plus at least one year’s relevant customer service or general administrative experience
Or
(ii) Have five GCSEs* (Level 2), or equivalent qualification, plus at least two years’ relevant customer service or general administrative experience
Or
(iii) Can demonstrate three years’ experience in a relevant customer service role or general administrative experience

- Candidates must demonstate relevant experience in dealing appropriately with customers in a challenging environment
- Applicants must demonstrate (to be assessed at interview)

- Conflict resolution skills
- Possess a current driving licence or have access to a form of transport that enables them to meet the requirements of the post in full including with reasonable travel timeframes.
