The Recruitment Co are recruiting for Production Operatives for a prestigious bakery client in Wigan, WN4. The role of a production operative is to work as part of a team producing and packing products in an effective and efficient manner, in order to meet production targets and agreed quality and food safety standards.

Shifts

Dayshift Monday – Thursday 8.00am – 4.30pm and Friday 7.30am – 3.00pm

Nightshift Monday – Wednesday 4.15pm – 02.15am and Thursday 4.15pm – 01.15am

Rotating shifts (Week A) Monday – Friday 6.00am – 2.00pm (Week B) Monday – Friday 2.00pm – 10.00pm

Salary

Basic Rate £10.42

After 16:00 £10.55
After 22:00 £10.56

Your job responsibilities

In this job you are responsible for the following:

  • Maintain accurate records of production documents, to ensure the product is produced to agreed standards and ensure all information is present and correct.
  • Ensure all recipes are followed and raw materials issued are checked.
  • To ensure the raw material codes are correct and a GRN label present.
  • Ensure that all plant issues and down time is recorded and escalated to the Production Manager, Senior Supervisor, Supervisors, Charge Hands.
  • Aid in maintaining BRC grade A certification for the manufacturing site & Comply with all requirements
  • Assist in customer complaint investigations and prevent to reduce complaint levels.
  • To carry out any other duties deemed reasonable by any Manager, Supervisor or Charge hand Le. working in other departments, plants.
  • Required to assist other areas of the business as and when deemed appropriate.
  • Contribute to continuous improvements, reduction in waste and non-conforming products.
  • Responsible for ensuring the clean as you go practice is adhered to and to the company cleaning procedures
  • To carry out all obligations in compliance with the Food Safety act (1990) and all other subsequent legislation relating to Food Safety.
  • Ensure that all plant/ equipment issues are escalated to the Supervisors, Production Manager, Charge hand and Engineering personnel where applicable in a timely manner.
  • Ensure that all recipes, start-up sheets and all other daily sheets are completed, up to date and passed to the Supervisor, Production Manager at the end of each working shift.
  • Ensure allergen materials are used to the company Allergen procedure and any spillages reported immediately to a supervisor or Manager.
  • To notify the department Manager, Supervisor and Quality department of any quality/ food safety related issues i.e., raw materials, packaging, finished products.
  • Equipment failures/ damage to be reported to the department manager immediately.
  • Adhere and embody Health and Safety as required by the company and personal responsibility

We are looking for people who have previous production experience, who are strong communicators and who are flexible.

  • 1 years, Experience has a production operative
  • To be able to able to read, write and communicate effectively in English, due for H&S and Product reasons.
  • Be a team player, willing to support colleagues and other areas if needed
  • Flexibility to work overtime if needed in peak periods
