Quality Engineer
Location: Bolton
Employment Type: Permanent, Full Time (37 Hours per week, 4 days)
Salary: £40,000 – £42,000 per year

Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Quality Engineer to join our team, supporting our wider Manufacturing group. This role involves close collaboration with our factory operations, making experience in Quality Engineering within precision machining a valuable asset.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead quality improvement activities within the factory, working alongside other QE’s.
Analyze factory data, propose and implement necessary process changes to achieve targets.
Conduct capability studies, support Engineering with tolerancing conclusions, and undertake process audits.
Participate in APQP activities for major projects, including DFMEA and PFMEA.
Develop and maintain control plans, standard operating procedures, and inspection plans.
Investigate customer complaints, lead problem-solving efforts, and provide 8D responses.
Maintain a visible presence in the factory to uphold quality standards.
Communicate findings effectively to key stakeholders within the Manufacturing team.
Required Experience:
Practical background with solid knowledge of factory processes.
Minimum 3 years of Quality Engineering experience in a manufacturing context, preferably precision engineering.
Proven problem-solving abilities, including 8D response for customer demands.
Experience leading Quality Improvement activities.
Trained auditor with auditing experience.
Proficiency in PC skills, report writing, SOPs, and Excel/Word analysis.
Valid driver’s license for company business.
Preferred Experience (not essential):
Experience in an APQP environment, ideally within a TS16949 context, with exposure to PPAP, FMEA, etc.
Background in OEM Automotive or Aerospace manufacturing.
