The Recruitment Co. is currently recruiting for a Quantity Surveyor on behalf of a leading public sector organisation.
Location: Various locations across Northern Ireland
Pay Rate: £19.32 per hour
Hours: 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 5:00pm
Contract: Temporary until 30th September 2026
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a busy Asset Management team, supporting the delivery of housing investment and maintenance programmes across Northern Ireland.
About the Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing commercial and quantity surveying support across a range of construction, planned maintenance and investment projects. You will work closely with contractors, consultants and internal stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparing specifications, schedules of rates and tender documentation
- Supporting procurement and contract administration activities
- Evaluating tenders and quotations
- Monitoring project budgets, expenditure and forecasting
- Managing contractor performance and ensuring value for money
- Providing technical and commercial advice to stakeholders
- Producing reports and performance data
- Supporting compliance, governance and risk management processes
- Maintaining accurate project records and documentation
- Building and maintaining effective working relationships with contractors and project teams
Essential Criteria
Applicants must meet one of the following:
- Degree (Level 6 or equivalent) in a Building/Construction-related discipline with at least 1 year’s relevant experience
OR
- Level 5 qualification in a Building/Construction-related discipline with at least 2 years’ relevant experience
OR
- Equivalent experience and a minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience within a Building/Construction environment
In addition, candidates should have significant experience in areas such as:
- Commercial management of construction projects
- Budget management and financial controls
- Contract administration
- Performance reporting and analysis
- Providing technical advice to a range of stakeholders
- Compliance and risk management
