The Road to Promotion: Jake & Danielle

The Road to Promotion: Jake & Danielle.

There’s nothing sweeter than climbing the career ladder within a organisation – starting from the ground, and successfully working your way upward, brings with it an immense sense of personal pride and satisfaction. While a plethora of success stories can be found within Cordant People, we spoke with Recruitment Strategy & Development Manager, Jake Bradley & Branch Manager, Danielle Harris in particular, to discuss how they rose through the ranks, and got where they are today.

Recruitment Strategy & Development Manager: Jake Bradley

Where did you start with the business and where are you now?

I began my career with Cordant in April 2014 and have just hit my 7 year milestone! I started off as a rookie Recruitment Consultant for the Office Personnel/Commercial Division covering the Greater Manchester area. Now, I’m the Recruitment Strategy & Development Manager for our Specialist Business Unit – working collaboratively with some of the UKs major brands. It’s my job to ensure our clients have the best support when creating innovative hiring plans that reduce the time & cost to hire whilst improving the candidate journey.

How have Cordant supported you on your career journey?

Cordant People are a big believer in promoting the development of their staff (wherever you are at in your journey with us). The SMT have always made progression opportunities clear and concise; so that I’ve been able to  track my success against agreed targets and understand what needs to be delivered in order to take the next step up. They have supported both my personal & professional development through internal/external training courses and continued support at a local level.

Have your colleagues played a part in your success journey?

Having had such a successful and caring management team around me has allowed me to learn from the best and continue in their footsteps. Karen Stafford-Pitman & Ria McAdam-Lawlor have both invested lots of time in my growth and development within the recruitment industry. They continue to push me out of my comfort zone on a regular basis to ensure that I’m able to face new and exciting challenges when they present themselves!

Have you completed any training with the business?

Regular classroom, desk-based and e-learning courses have always been provided to employees of Cordant via our central L&D department. They are constantly identifying new and more engaging ways of learning whilst providing us with the best tools and tech to carry out our day job!

What do you love about working at Cordant?

‘Cordant People’ does what it says on the tin… our people are what drives our business and makes me feel like my role is more than just a job! With work hard, we play hard. We challenge one another to be a better version of ourselves but we also support each other to see the successes play out.

7 years service and 3 promotions later (and knowing when my next one will take place) means there’s nowhere else I’d rather be than working for Cordant People!!

Branch Manager: Danielle Harris

I started working with Cordant People as a Resourcer/Administrator and have recently been promoted to Branch Manager for Warrington. I worked through from Resourcer/Administrator to Sales Consultant, Senior Consultant , Principal Consultant and now Branch Manager.

How have Cordant supported you on your career journey?

Cordant have always provided me with opportunities to grow and develop within each job role I’ve had. This support has certainly helped me throughout my career, leading me to my most recent promotion.

Have your colleagues played a part in your success journey?

My colleagues within Cordant People have always provided me with training, advice and support, wherever I needed it to help better support my development.
