When’s the best day to job hunt?.
A study from Bright.com which compared the success rate of job applications against the times and days of which they were sent has used its findings to determine the best day to job hunt.
So then, ready for the big reveal? Drum roll, please.
The most common day to job hunt is Tuesday! However, (and this is a big however) It’s not the most successful day to apply.
The study revealed that the 37% of job hunters who applied for jobs on Tuesdays, only saw a 20% success rate from their applications.
So then, when is the best day to apply for a job?
Turns out, and probably as you’d expect, it’s Monday. 30% of those who applied on Mondays made it through to the second round of the hiring process.
So why might this be the case?
It’s more than likely that job applications submitted on a Monday will be received by employers at the start of their working week and are therefore more likely to be seen first. In addition to this, the fact the job seeker didn’t wait an extra day (or any other day excluding Monday for that matter) to apply for the role also highlights motivation and enthusiasm.
So now you know! For the most effective results get those applications out at the start of the week, nice and early – sounds like the perfect way to cure those Monday blues to us.
