Admin Assistant – Community Addictions (Ballymena)

Location: Ballymena
Pay Rate: £12.75 per hour
Hours: 37.5 per week (Monday – Friday)
Contract: Temporary


About the Role

We are currently recruiting for an Admin Assistant to support the Community Addictions Service in Ballymena. This role is key to ensuring the smooth and efficient running of the service, providing high-quality administrative support to the wider team.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive administrative support to the Addiction Service
  • Type and prepare reports, letters, forms, and documents to a high standard (including audio/digital dictation)
  • Arrange meetings, take minutes, and distribute relevant documentation
  • Manage incoming mail, emails, and telephone enquiries, ensuring timely follow-up
  • Maintain and update filing systems, records, and databases
  • Input and retrieve data from computerised systems
  • Liaise with external agencies and stakeholders
  • Handle cash, petty cash, and banking lodgements
  • Collect and collate statistical information in line with KPIs
  • Develop and maintain spreadsheets and databases using Microsoft Office
  • Provide clerical cover for colleagues during periods of leave or increased workload
  • Ensure confidentiality and compliance with equality and data protection policies

Essential Criteria

Applicants must meet one of the following:

4 GCSEs (A-C) including English* AND 1 year’s administrative experience

OR

2 years’ administrative experience in an office environment AND GCSE English (A-C)*

AND

✔ One of the following:

  • OCR Text Processing Level 2 Award
  • RSA Stage II Typing/Word Processing (both parts) or equivalent
  • OR 1 year’s experience using ICT (including word processing, spreadsheets, and email)
