Position: Laboratory Systems Support Specialist
Location: Manchester
Contract: 2 year fixed term contract
Salary: Up to £26,000 DOE
Our client is dedicated to advancing clinical trials of new anticancer drugs through cutting-edge biomarker research. We are currently assisting in the seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Laboratory Systems Support Specialist to join their dynamic team. In this role, you will play a vital part in supporting their research activities by administering and maintaining essential laboratory systems, including LabWare LIMS, Q-Pulse Quality Management Software, and T-Scan temperature monitoring software.
As a Laboratory Systems Support Specialist, you will be responsible for:
Deputy LIMS Administrator:
- Collaborating with the LIMS Administrator to understand and support LabWare LIMS, including leading system changes in line with established change control processes.
- Assisting in the development of the system, ensuring the creation, validation, and maintenance of reports, calculations, and queries.
T-Scan and Q-Pulse:
- Managing the T-Scan temperature monitoring software, including user management and alarm list setup.
- Assisting in managing the Q-Pulse system, including user management, template creation, and workflow development.
- Collaborating with administrators and vendors to plan system upgrades and improvements.
Software Support:
- Providing user support and helping resolve technical issues in a timely manner.
- Delivering training and support to new end users, maintaining up-to-date training materials and records.
GCP Laboratory Support:
- Developing a working knowledge of clinical trials and related regulations.
- Assisting the Operations Team in managing laboratory activities, including biobank facility management and freezer space allocation.
- Collaborating with various teams to track projects and clinical trials in the Project Portfolio, including sample management, budget tracking, and research contract milestones.
Computer Systems Validation:
- Assisting in preparing documentation for change control and computer systems validation for LIMS, Q-Pulse, and T-Scan.
Health and Safety:
- Proactively maintaining high laboratory safety standards, ensuring compliance with safety codes of practice.
Qualifications and Training:
- Relevant degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
- Knowledge of laboratory quality management systems (QMS) is a plus.
