Salary: c£51000 depending on experience

Due to their ambitious growth plans, there is a new role available in the Maintenance team as a Lead Engineer to support the Company on their journey to becoming a world class food manufacturing facility.

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the Lead Engineer will:

  • While on shift know the current performance of the lines and allocate engineering resource. Effectively plan and supervise the workload of the other engineers on shift
  • Carry out ongoing repairs and maintenance across site
  • Ensure Engineering Work Requests are completed to agreed timescales and carry out planned work during none ‘Breakdown’ situations
  • Maintain strong lines of communication between the engineering and manufacturing teams
  • Ensure effective handovers between shifts and a full detailed shift log is completed and sent out
  • Utilise all engineering systems
  • Ensure the highest standards of health & safety, food safety and other manufacturing practices are being achieved and maintained by yourself
  • Maintain winning ways behaviours around company policies
  • Understand downtime issues & targets
  • Work with the senior improvements engineer to carry out line improvements
  • Participate in CI activities on shift

As the Lead Engineer, you will:

  • Be a multiskilled electrically biased time served engineer – HNC level or above
  • Be computer literate with a knowledge of CMMS systems
  • Have sound knowledge of workplace health and safety
  • Have FMCG experience (preferable in the food industry)
  • Have excellent written and verbal communication skills
