We are currently recruiting for a Project Officer (Digital) to join a high-profile digital transformation project within a public sector organisation. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated project professional to support the delivery of a critical digital systems upgrade that plays a key role in emergency response and operational effectiveness.

The Role

As Project Officer, you will support the planning, coordination, implementation, and monitoring of a major IT project. Working closely with senior project leads, technical specialists, contractors, and key stakeholders, you will help ensure project objectives are delivered on time, within scope, and to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the development and implementation of project plans
  • Coordinate project activities and track progress against milestones
  • Assist with stakeholder engagement and communications
  • Maintain project documentation, action logs, risk registers, and change controls
  • Support data migration, system implementation, and user acceptance testing (UAT)
  • Prepare documentation and reports for governance meetings
  • Monitor project risks and issues, ensuring actions are tracked and completed
  • Assist with budget monitoring and project expenditure reporting
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Take meeting minutes and provide administrative support to the project team as required

Essential Criteria

Applicants must possess one of the following:

  • A Level 6 qualification (Degree or equivalent) in a relevant discipline and at least 1 year’s experience in a project support or project coordination role within Digital/IT projects

OR

  • A Level 5 qualification (HND or equivalent) in a relevant discipline and at least 2 years’ experience in a project support or project coordination role within Digital/IT projects.

You’ll Also Have

  • Excellent planning and organisational skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities
  • Experience building productive relationships with stakeholders
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage competing priorities
  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • Experience working within project management environments.

Additional Requirements

  • Full UK/EU driving licence and access to transport for business use, or suitable alternative transport arrangements.
