A Children’s Home is seeking dedicated and compassionate Residential Child Care Workers to join our established team supporting children and young people with learning disabilities, autism, ADHD, complex health needs and behaviours that may challenge.

You will work alongside a multidisciplinary team to deliver person-centred care, ensuring each child’s individual needs are met while promoting positive outcomes and enhancing their quality of life.
About the Service
The Children’s Home is a 4-5 bed residential service providing specialist care and support for children and young people aged 10-17 years.
Our residents may have:
- Learning Disabilities
- Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
- ADHD
- Complex health needs
- Emotional and behavioural support requirements
Our team is committed to delivering high-quality care in line with individual care plans while maintaining a safe, supportive and therapeutic environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality care and support to children and young people.
- Support service users with personal care and daily living activities.
- Administer medication in line with Trust policies and procedures.
- Promote independence, life skills and positive behavioural outcomes.
- Support community access, recreational activities and social engagement.
- Maintain accurate records and complete required documentation.
- Build positive relationships with young people, families and professionals.
- Respond effectively to challenging situations using approved intervention strategies.
- Contribute to creating a safe, nurturing and child-centred environment.
Essential Criteria
Applicants must have:
- Current NISCC Registration or NMC Registration.
- Valid UK Manual Driving Licence (not restricted to automatic vehicles).
- Experience supporting individuals with learning disabilities, autism, complex needs or behaviours that challenge.
- Ability to work flexibly across a 24-hour rota service.
- Strong communication, teamwork and interpersonal skills.
Essential Training
Successful candidates must hold or be willing to complete:
- Advanced My Safety Intervention (CPI) Training.
- Trust Mandatory Training.
- Medication Administration Training.
- Buccal Midazolam Administration Training.
Shift Pattern
This service operates 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.
Shifts may include:
- Early Shifts: 7:15am – 3:00pm
- Late Shifts: 2:00pm – 10:00pm
- Long Days: 7:15am – 10:00pm
- Waking Nights (when required)
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Flexible availability across weekdays, weekends and public holidays is required.
