The Recruitment Co are working with a world leading manufacturer in the textile industry, who are looking to add a Tufting Operative to their established team.
This role is suitable for someone with experience in the textile industry as a production operative or team leader.

Tufting Operative Responsibilities:

• Operating the creel, splicing, supervising operators to load the creel
• Communicating with machine schedulers and running to agreed production plans
• Carry out machine changeovers, including knife changes, colour changes etc.
• Ensuring that efficiency and quality on the tufting machine is optimised
• Work with process engineers to improve the tufting process including quality and efficiency
• Willingness to train others in the tufting department

Tufting Operative Key Skills:

• Excellent time management
• Strong decision making and prioritisation skills
• Management and delegation skills with the ability to supervise others
• Ability to communicate effectively with other production staff and senior management
• Attention to detail with an appreciation of tufting quality requirements
• Previous experience of running a cut pile tufting machine is highly desirable.

Candidates must be flexible to work on a rotating 3 shift pattern Monday – Friday – 6am-2pm / 10pm-6am / 2pm-10pm

Location: Manchester

Salary: £23,000 – £25,000 per annum depending on experience
