Warehouse Operative / Driver Chargehand – Band 3

Hours: 37.5 Hours per Week

About the Role

We are currently seeking a motivated and experienced Warehouse Operative / Driver Chargehand to join a busy logistics team supporting Health and Social Care services across Northern Ireland.

This is a varied role combining warehouse operations, driving responsibilities and day-to-day team coordination. The successful candidate will support the efficient receipt, storage, distribution, collection and delivery of equipment and supplies, while assisting with the supervision of warehouse and driver operatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive Category C vehicles safely and efficiently for deliveries and collections.
• Support the day-to-day supervision of warehouse and driver operatives.
• Assist with goods receipt, stock control, picking, packing and dispatch activities.
• Maintain accurate inventory records using warehouse and logistics systems.
• Operate warehouse equipment and barcode scanning technology.
• Assist with route planning, vehicle loading and delivery scheduling.
• Carry out vehicle inspections and report defects promptly.
• Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, quality standards and operational procedures.
• Support stock-taking activities and warehouse housekeeping duties.
• Deliver a high standard of customer service when interacting with service users and healthcare facilities.

Essential Criteria

Applicants must have:

• A valid Category C Driving Licence for use in the UK.
• 2 years’ experience in a procurement or logistics environment

OR

• Three GCSEs (or equivalent), including English Language and Mathematics, plus 18 months’ experience in a procurement or logistics environment.
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
• The ability to work effectively as part of a team and under direction.
• Competency in Microsoft Word and Excel.

Desirable Criteria

• Experience driving Category C vehicles for deliveries and collections.
• Counterbalance or Reach Truck licence.
