Quantity Surveyor

⏰ 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday
📅 Fixed-Term Contract (Approx. 3 Months)

We are currently seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a busy project delivery team. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated professional to support the successful delivery of construction and maintenance projects while ensuring effective cost control, contract management, and value for money.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and assist in the development of specifications, drawings, bills of quantities, and schedules of rates.
• Support tendering processes, including the evaluation of quotations and contract documentation.
• Administer contracts and ensure projects are delivered in accordance with agreed terms and conditions.
• Monitor project budgets, costs, forecasts, and cash flow projections.
• Manage commercial risks and provide advice on contract strategy and performance improvement.
• Liaise with contractors, consultants, and project teams to ensure the effective delivery of works.
• Authorise works instructions, variations, and invoices within delegated authority levels.
• Maintain accurate project records and ensure all documentation is processed efficiently.
• Support risk management activities and maintain relevant risk registers.
• Provide technical and commercial advice to management and colleagues as required.

Essential Criteria

✅ HNC (or equivalent) in a relevant construction-related discipline

✅ Minimum of 2 years’ Quantity Surveying experience

✅ Experience working within construction, maintenance, refurbishment, or property projects

✅ Strong knowledge of contract administration and cost management

✅ Ability to manage budgets, monitor expenditure, and produce financial forecasts

✅ Good IT skills and experience using quantity surveying software

✅ Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
