The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Quantity Surveyor to join a busy project delivery team. This is an excellent opportunity to support the successful delivery of construction, maintenance, compliance, and investment projects while ensuring effective cost control, contract management, and value for money.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare specifications, drawings, bills of quantities, schedules of rates, and tender documentation.
• Assist with the procurement process, including evaluating tenders and quotations.
• Manage contracts and ensure works are delivered in accordance with agreed terms and conditions.
• Monitor project budgets, expenditure, cash flow, and forecasts.
• Provide advice on contract interpretation, commercial risk, and cost management.
• Liaise effectively with contractors, consultants, and project stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.
• Process contract instructions, variations, certificates, and invoices.
• Maintain accurate project documentation and performance records.
• Contribute to risk management activities and support the maintenance of risk registers.
• Provide technical and commercial advice to colleagues and management.
• Support the delivery of construction, refurbishment, maintenance, and regeneration programmes.
• Ensure projects achieve value for money and meet required performance standards.

Essential Criteria

Applicants must possess one of the following:

✅ Degree (Level 6 or equivalent) in a Building or Construction-related discipline with at least 1 year’s relevant experience

OR

✅ HNC/HND, BTEC Higher, or equivalent Level 5 qualification in a Building or Construction-related discipline with at least 2 years’ relevant experience

OR

✅ A minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience within a Building or Construction environment supported by evidence of continuing professional development

Skills & Experience

• Previous experience in Quantity Surveying or a similar construction-related role.
• Strong understanding of construction contracts and procurement processes.
• Experience managing project costs and budgets.
• Excellent analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and quantity surveying software packages.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
