Job Title: Trainee Crane driver (HGV Class 2 license essential)
Location: Newport
Salary: £12.00-£16.00 per hour depending on your HGV experience

Hours: Full time. Monday – Friday, days regular 40 hours a week

Here at The Recruitment Co we are currently recruiting a Trainee Crane Driver to work for a client of ours in Newport.

This role will be working Monday to Friday and a minimum of 40 hours a week paying £12.00-£15.00 per hour depending on your experience.

This is a full time and permanent position.

A Trainee Crane Driver is responsible for operating an all terrain mobile telescopic crane to lift, move, position, and reposition loads as required by the customer.

Main Job Roles:

• Operate an all terrain mobile telescopic crane as allocated by the company based on previous experience and following assessment from a manufacturer inducted or competent operator of the allocated machine.
• Drive the crane from the depot of origin, to arrive on the requested site, at the time of request, on arrival on site set up the crane as per the relevant machine manufacturers’
  operating manual in the position identified in the method statement compiled by the customer or the company.
• Operate the crane via communications from on site slinger/ signalers’ utilising 2-way radios or hand signals as required by the requirements of the on-site method statement
• Fit fly-jib as required by customer / method statement and remove on completion of relevant lifts for stowing on machine.
• Complete operator timesheet relevant to the requested hire; ensure customer representative signs timesheet on arrival on site signaling machine acceptance prior to rigging machine and on completion of requested works prior to de-rigging machine and leaving site.
• Carry out pre-operational checks on machine as required via company policy and complete company documentation identifying any issues arising from those checks.
• Complete routine maintenance as required, the frequency of which is as per company policy with the assistance of the depot crane engineer as required.

Experience Required

• CPCS Mobile Crane Operators card – Blue card preferred
• The ability to speak & read the English language so that the requirements identified within the method statement are understood.
• Must be able to pass a mobile crane operator fit for work medical
• A valid LGV class C Licence, class 2 or 1, 7.5 ton
• Previous experience operating all terrain mobile telescopic cranes.
